Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi has issued an apology to the Control Board (BCCI) for cricket for cricket in India for taking a trophy from Dubai Cricket Stadium. However, Pakistan’s internal minister, Naqvi, still refused to return the trophy and medal to the Indian team led by Suryakumar Yadav.
Indian players refused to accept the trophy from NQVI during the performance ceremony in Dubai on Sunday, 28 September. The ceremony was delayed for about an hour before the sudden ending, which forced India to celebrate its victory without the trophy and criticize the NAQVI’s actions and conduct.

According to Sports Tak, Mohsin Naqvi apologized to the BCCI for the incident after the match, “what happened should not have been.”
However, he continues to stop the T20 Asia Cup 2025 Trophy and medal from India, saying that Suryakumar Yadav would have to collect them personally. Amid the ongoing controversies, Naqvi is also scheduled to leave for Lahore.
The Indian team refused to accept the trophy from Naqvi, citing its official role in the Pakistan government. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said that India “cannot take a trophy from a person who represents a war against us.”
Earlier, Naqvi shared controversial social media posts during the tournament. He posted stimulating images, with fighter jets with a photo of Pakistan player and Cristiano Ronaldo with a crashed aircraft, which impressed India’s decision to reject the trophy.

After a warm discussion about the trophy controversy, Naqvi felt humiliated during the presentation ceremony when the Indian team refused to accept the trophy.
According to a source close to Sports Tech, Mohsin Naqvi said, “I was standing there like a cartoon without any reason. There was no written information that the Indian team would not accept it from me.”
India celebrated its Asia Cup 2025 victory with captain Suryakumar Yadav and the team rejected Rohit Sharma’s prestigious “Slow Walk” from the 2024 T20 World Cup. However, the ceremonies were observed from the fact that the team could not hold the trophy in their hands.

India captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and selected the Asia Cup in the first ground in the 2025 final. Pakistan openers Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman shared an 84 -run partnership with 58 balls to give the team a concrete start.
However, Indian spinners turned the game into mid -order. Green men were excluded for just 146 runs. Kuldeep Yadav scored 4 runs for 30 in his four overs, while Exer Patel and Varun Chakravardhi took two wickets in each.
Chasing the target, the Indian team fell quickly but completed the chase in 19.4 overs. Tilak Verma anchored the innings with 69 runs in 53 balls. Shivam Dubey scored 33 runs in 22 delivery before being dismissed in the 19th over. Verma won the Player of the Match Award.
