India launched its campaign on Wednesday (September 10) with a 9-vein win over UAE in Dubai. This was a completely unilateral competition as India completely dominated the match and excluded the domestic side.
Except for the dramatic collapse of the UAE, who saw him out of 47/2 to 57, the match did not witness any major event. However, a dramatic incident occurred in the 13th over of the UAE innings, when his number 10 Junaid Siddiq was facing Shivam Dubey.

With the UAE player outside the crease, Sanju Samson felt an opportunity and decided to take a shy at stumps.

Akash Chopra on Suryakumar Yadav’s decision:
While Suryakumar Yadav has been appreciated by many quarters for his decision, former India batsman Akash Chopra was not very impressed with the ball.
Speaking on Espncricinfo, former cricketer-turn-cum-commentator said Suryakumar Yadav’s decision was based on the position of the match at the time and the captain of India would not have taken the same call against the difficult opposition like Pakistan.

Speaking further, Chopra praised Samson for the presence of his mind and said that Siddiq should have been declared.
Sanju Samson praised him for his quick thinking

Talking about the game, India thrashed the UAE by nine wickets to start their campaign with a win. After bowling the opposition for only 57 runs, India chased the total in less than 5 overs.
