The Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) is currently restructuring its selection panel, with two new selectors. In particular, the announcement of India’s test squad for the upcoming West Indies series is likely to be delayed, only with the expected decision in the last week of September.
India is set to host the West Indies for the two -match testing series in October. This will be India’s first home red-ball assignment as Shubman Gill was named Captain. The young opener, who recently guided the previous team of England, will lead the national side on the soil of the house for the first time in any format.
BCCI Selection Committee to get two new members
Ajit Agarkar will continue as the chairman of the BCCI Selection Committee, but two members of the current panel are expected to be replaced, with Shiva Sundar Das, Subroto Banerjee, or Sreedharan Sharath with those who are likely to make way.

The interview process for new selectors usually takes about two weeks, which can delay the team’s announcement. In particular, the selection committee currently includes Agkar, Das, Banerjee, Ajay Ratra and Sharath.
A BCCI official told the Insidesport, “We still have a month, and since it is a home series, it is a home series, it will not be an issue. The ideal situation will be to onboard new selectors before announcing the Test squad. But if the process takes time, the current committee will announce the square in the second or third week if the process takes time.”
India faced West Indies in the October Test series after England Draw
After his 2–2 draw in a five-match series against England, India will return to Red-Ball cricket in October for a two-match series against West Indies.
The first game will be played from 2 to 6 October at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, while the second will be held from 10 to 14 October at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
During the tour of England, the selectors named the 21-member squad, including injury replacement, including 16 players in the series at least one match. This gave the selectors a lot of options and performance to assess.
