Indian left-handed batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has been struggling since his inclusion in the ODI team. After being dismissed by the left arm fast bowler in the first game in Ranchi and again in the second match in a similar manner.

South Africa take the lead in Raipur as Temba Bavuma returns to lead the South African team, with Ryan Rickelton rested from this game. Quinton de Kock will be seen opening the innings with Aiden Markram, while India will remain unchanged.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s flop show continues for India

India considered including Yashasvi Jaiswal in place of Shubman Gill as the former captain was suffering from neck spasms which ruled him out of competitive cricket. His return has been thrown into further doubt as players like Yashasvi Jaiswal could also be included in the squad.

The batsman has also been included in the ODI squad after performing well in the IPL as well as the Test format for India. Despite the chances, Jaiswal could only score 17 runs in the first game and 22 runs in the second game.

Jasiwal continued his poor form against left-arm fast bowlers, being dismissed by Nandre Berger in the first match and now by Marco Jansen in the second game. Even in the Test series, Jansen had defeated Jaiswal.

Partnership for the third wicket between Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad

The Indian national cricket team had to struggle with its opening pair for the second match in Raipur. The track looked very green and it was working well for the Proteas, after the dismissal of the two openers.

Virat Kohli, the century-winner from the previous game, came to the aid of the Indians in the crunch and formed a partnership with Ruturaj Gaikwad in the middle order. Gaikwad has replaced Shreyas Iyer in the middle order after he scored a poor half-century in Ranchi.

India crossed 150 with half-centuries from both Virat and Gaikwad. The Proteas tried every bowler from their deck, and only Marco Jansen and Nandre Berger struck once. India is half way there as they set a target of 300+ for India.
