On Tuesday, December 9, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the India women’s national cricket team’s squad for the upcoming T20I series against the Sri Lanka women’s national cricket team.

Sri Lanka women’s national cricket team and India women’s national cricket team are all set to face each other in a high-octane five-match T20 series in December 2025.

Harmanpreet Kaur is set to lead the Women in Blue in the series against Sri Lanka, and will be supported by her deputy Smriti Mandhana in the leadership department.

Smriti Mandhana’s inclusion in the team comes days after she faced a personal tragedy as she recently canceled her wedding with Palash Muchhal, and the internet is full of speculations as to why the event was cancelled.

Meanwhile, Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Harleen Deol, Amanjot Kaur, Arundhati Reddy, Kranti Gaur and Renuka Singh Thakur are also in the team.

There is another prominent name in the team – Shafali Verma – who shone for India in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 final. Richa Ghosh and Kamalini are the two wicketkeepers in the team.

“The Women’s Selection Committee has named India’s squad for the upcoming IDFC First Bank five-match T20 series against Sri Lanka Women,” the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in an official media release.
