Cricket South Africa has announced the domestic international fixtures for the 2026–27 season. India women’s national cricket team will travel to face the Proteas in a highly anticipated multi-format series, consisting of a three-match One Day International series followed by a rare one-off Test in December 2026.
India and South Africa share a competitive rivalry in women’s cricket. The Women in Blue, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, clinched their first ICC title by defeating South Africa during the ODI World Cup 2025 final on home soil. Team India defeated South Africa by 52 runs on 2 November 2025 in Navi Mumbai.
India Women Itinerary and Locations
The ODI world champions will begin their campaign with a warm-up match against South Africa Emerging at Willowmoor Park in Benoni on December 6. This 50-over match provides an important opportunity for spectators to acclimatise to the local pitch conditions ahead of the ICC Women’s Championship series.
The three-match ODI series will begin on December 9 at the JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom. Both teams will travel to Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein for the second match on 12 December. The white-ball series will conclude on December 15 at the WSB Newlands in Cape Town.
After the limited overs fixtures, both the teams will play a one-off Test match at the Dafabet St George’s Park in Gkebarha from December 20 to 23. The highly anticipated encounter is only the second women’s Test match to be held in the city since the England tour in December 1960.
Australia plans to tour South Africa in 2027
Cricket South Africa has also confirmed that the Australia women’s national cricket team will embark on its first bilateral tour of the country. A previously planned series in March 2020 was canceled due to the pandemic. The upcoming multi-format tour will run from March 18 to April 11, 2027.
The Australian tour will consist of three T20 International matches in Kimberley, Benoni and Gkebarha. The teams will later play three One Day Internationals in Gkeberaha, Paarl and Durban.
The tour will conclude with a four-day Test match at the JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom from April 8. Notably, this red-ball game will be Australia’s first since their win over India in Perth earlier this month, as there are no Tests scheduled during the 2026-27 home summer.
The Australia women’s national cricket team last met the South Africa women’s national cricket team in a red-ball match at the WACA Ground in February 2024.
