Pant’s exceptional reflexes and sheer athleticism to complete such a remarkable catch elevated the moment further, trapping the South African opener and giving India a major breakthrough. This wicket not only prevented resistance from Markram but also sent a clear message about the strength of India’s bowling attack.

IND vs SA: South Africa’s top order faces initial challenges on the first day of Kolkata Test
As soon as the first session of the first day started in Kolkata, South Africa won the toss and decided to bat first.
