Markram, in an attempt to defend, could only get one edge which flew away. Rishabh PantPant, always alert behind the stumps, dived to his right with extraordinary agility and plucked the ball out of mid-air in what can only be described as a stunning, one-handed catch,
Bumrah’s delivery was shocking, almost impossible to play, with the extra bounce making it almost impossible for Markram to react in time. Pant’s exceptional reflexes and sheer athleticism to complete such a remarkable catch elevated the moment further, trapping the South African opener and giving India a major breakthrough. This wicket not only prevented resistance from Markram but also sent a clear message about the strength of India’s bowling attack.
