Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal expressed anger over India’s refusal to accept the Asia Cup Trophy from ACC President Mohsin Naqvi during the final at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Akmal urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to “never play India” after the trophy dispute.
Indian players abandoned the customary handshake with their Pakistan counterparts during three matches. Men in Blue also did not collect the trophy after winning. In particular, the Pakistani cricket community expressed displeasure after Suryakumar Yadav and the team refused to accept the trophy from Naqvi.

Mohsin Naqvi is the internal minister of Pakistan and PCB president. The BCCI took its stand to the ACC before the final. The trophy ceremony delayed for more than an hour, but the Indian team left without collecting the award or trophy.
Kamran Akmal said that India’s behavior was harmful to cricket and said that PCB should announce that they will no longer play against India.
“We will continue to see these cheap Harketin (behavior) from India. We have seen in this tournament that the more damage he has done to cricket. PCB and ACC president took the right stand – or not, or not, it will only be given by the President. India cricket will become a joke of the world,” Akmal said.
“Pakistan Board should say immediately that ‘we should never play against India’. Let’s see what action the ICC takes. After this you need more evidence?” He said.

Kamran Akmal questioned the ICC while addressing a dispute between India and Pakistan. Akmal stated that a neutral committee, which should be included to decide on appropriate tasks, a neutral committee, which should include representatives from countries such as Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.
“But the BCCI person is leading the ICC – how he will be [Jay Shah] take an action? Other boards have to come together, say that we cannot see it in cricket. The game is not played at anyone’s home. If other people do not play them, no money is going to come, ”Akmal said.

India denies the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi before the Asia Cup 2025 finals
Even before the final begins, it was clear that India would not accept the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi. However, NAQVI blocked the efforts by ACC officials and chairman of the Emirates Cricket Board Khalid Al Zaroni.
Earlier this year, terrorists killed 26 civilians in Pahalgam, Kashmir. India then launched Operation Sindore against terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (POK). Fans and former cricketers urged the BCCI to boycott all sports relations with Pakistan.
However, the BCCI expressed its stand to play Pakistan in the multinational tournament. Indian players refused to join hands with their Pakistani counterparts, and Suryakumar Yadav left the captain’s photoshoot before the final.
After India’s group-step victory, Yadav dedicated the victory to the Indian armed forces. He donated his match fee to the army after the final from the tournament.
