The Asian Legends League (ALL) is set to return for its second season, featuring a number of retired international cricketers for another exciting T20 tournament. Fans will once again witness the iconic rivalry as the legends of India and Pakistan face each other on the field.
During the success of the inaugural 2025 edition, Asian Stars defeated Indian Royals in the final. Notably, the organizers expanded the tournament for Season 2. The competition will take place in Lusaka, Zambia from July 30 to August 10, with six teams competing in 19 matches.
Players of India, Pakistan ready to share the field again
Indian Royals, Sri Lankan Lions, Bangladesh Tigers, Afghanistan Pathans, Pakistan Panthers and Asian Stars will compete in the second season. Teams will play 15 league matches before the knockout stage, with the final taking place in Lusaka, Zambia on August 10.
Notably, Indian Royals will face Pakistan Panthers on Sunday, August 2. The match has attracted considerable attention as cricket relations have been limited due to ongoing political tensions between the two countries.
The two sides have not shared the field since the controversial Asia Cup 2025, which ended with tension between players and officials. Last year in the Legends Tournament, several Indian players including Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh and Irfan Pathan pulled out of a scheduled match against Pakistan.
There is uncertainty over whether both the teams will take the field for the much-awaited encounter in the Asian Legends League. However, the organizers have included the event in the official schedule of the second season.
Yusuf Pathan will lead the star-studded Indian Royals team
Indian Royals have announced a strong squad with former international stars. Former World Cup winner Yusuf Pathan will captain the team as they aim to win the Asian Legends League title in Zambia.
The team includes many famous Indian cricketers including Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Dinesh Karthik and Naman Ojha. His experience and popularity is expected to add excitement to the tournament and attract cricket fans from around the world.
Experienced off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem have been included in the team. Harbhajan, Yusuf Pathan and Raina were among the Indian players who withdrew from the Legends League match against Pakistan, making their participation in the August 2 clash uncertain.
Mohammad Hafeez will lead Pakistan Panthers team
Pakistan Panthers have also announced a strong team for the tournament. Former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez will captain the team, which includes many experienced international players like Shoaib Malik and former opener Sharjeel Khan.
The batting unit also features wicketkeeper-batsmen Umar Akmal and Kamran Akmal. The bowling attack includes left-arm fast bowler Sohail Tanvir, fast bowler Wahab Riaz, leg spinner Yasir Shah and experienced off-spinner Saeed Ajmal.
On paper, Pakistan is one of the strongest teams in the competition. If the India-Pakistan match goes ahead as scheduled, fans around the world will get a chance to watch one of cricket’s biggest rivalries with former international stars.
