The fifth and final T20 match between India and Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane came to an abrupt halt due to lightning near the stadium on Saturday (November 8).
Only 4.5 overs of play was possible when the game had to be stopped immediately due to lightning. Within moments the atmosphere at Gabba went from tense to tense.
In the India vs Australia fifth T20 match in Brisbane, players had to leave the field due to lightning due to which the game was stopped.
After the unexpected incident, India and Australia players immediately walked off the field and went straight to their dressing rooms for safety in Brisbane.

The ground staff rushed to cover the pitch, although it had not yet rained. The umpires stopped play immediately after the lightning strike as a safety measure, as rain was expected soon.

The game has been stopped due to ICC’s 30-30 rule.
