On Saturday, December 27, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officially announced India’s Under-19 squad for the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup 2026.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star Ayush Mhatre has been appointed the India Under-19 captain for the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup and Vihaan Malhotra will serve as his deputy.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi included in India’s U19 World Cup squad
“The Junior Cricket Committee has selected India’s Under-19 squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa and the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup to be held in Zimbabwe and Namibia from January 15 to February 6, 2026.
“The upcoming edition of the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup will see 16 teams divided into four groups, followed by a Super Six stage, semi-finals and the final in Harare,” the BCCI said in an official media release.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said, “Note: Ayush Mhatre and Vihaan Malhotra have suffered wrist injuries and will miss the South Africa tour. Both will report to the BCCI Center of Excellence for further management of their injuries and will join the squad for the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup.”
