Shreyas Iyer is out of India’s T20I setup as Gautam Gambhir took over as head coach in July 2024, with his last appearance in December 2023. Their return, if this happens, can push Shivam Dub or Rinku Singh out of the Asia Cup 2025 squad.

Shreyas Iyer has so far scored 14 Tests, 70 Odis and 51 T20, 811, 2845 and 1104 for India respectively. Shreyas Iyer has also been influential in the IPL over the years, and in the last season, the right -handed batsman scored more than 600 runs to take Punjab Kings to the finals.
Shubman Gill and Mohammad Siraj out of Asia Cup 2025 Squad
Well, the Indian selectors are set to meet in Mumbai on August 19 to select the squad for the upcoming continental tournament. Even after a standout performance in the recent test series in England, Shubman Gill and Mohammad Siraj are unlikely to be selected for the tournament.
Gill has been in Dream form in 2025, recently scored more than 750 runs in the five -match Test series against England and has scored more than 650 runs in IPL 2025 for Gujarat Titans. But despite those large numbers, the Indian test captain’s location in the T20I team is not certain.
The problem is that Gill came in Test cricket and an IPL opener. For the Asia Cup 2025, Indian selectors are likely to continue with the initial pair of Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson. Yashasvi Jaiswal is also fighting for a place as a backup opener, and currently, he is leading the race against Gill.

Recently speaking about India’s star artist Mohammad Siraj in the England series, the Asia Cup team may be surprisingly remembered. Jasprit Bumrah will lead the speed attack, Arshdeep Singh and Prasad Krishna or Harshit Rana will be likely to join him with him.
