The Bangladesh NSC Sports Director dissolved the former BCB board headed by former president Aminul Islam Bulbul and replaced him with former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal as the new chairman of an ad-hoc committee that will prepare for the next elections.
Several irregularities came to light in the functioning of the BCB committee led by Aminul Islam, following which the Sports and Youth Minister of Bangladesh announced that a committee has been formed to investigate the elections of the previously constituted BCB committee.
All such investigations started coming to light when the interim Bangladesh government was dissolved and the new government wanted to improve relations between the BCB and BCCI. He had to miss the T20 World Cup due to hasty decisions taken by BCB.
Tamim Iqbal named new chairman of ad hoc committee
Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal was named chairman of the ad-hoc committee as the National Sports Council dissolved the previously elected BCB body led by Aminul Islam. NSC Sports Director Aminul Ehsan gave this information in the press conference.
He confirmed that several irregularities were observed in the last BCB elections held on October 6, 2025. The official said this was informed to the ICC, and the world cricket body was also informed about the formation of an 11-member ad-hoc committee.
This committee includes 11 members And it will have Tamim Iqbal (Chairman), Rashna Imam, Miza Yasir Abbas, Syed Ibrahim Ahmed, Israfil Khosru, Minhajul Abedin Nannu, Athar Ali Khan, Tanveer Chaudhary, Salman Ispahani, Rafiqul Islam Babu and Faheem Sinha. The committee will arrange for new elections in BCB within 90 days.
