India, Pakistan players ready to shake hands at T20 World Cup 2026 as handshake boycott ends

India-Pakistan will start joining hands again?: The India vs Pakistan match in the 2026 T20 World Cup is on the cards after three weeks of drama of boycott of the match by the latter team. However, after the International Cricket Council (ICC) accepted some of the demands made by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). They decide to take a U-turn and play the blockbuster clash, which is scheduled for tomorrow.

However, in a change of things, Pakistan is trying to initiate the process of handshake between the two teams, which was stopped by Suryakumar Yadav’s team during the Asia Cup. Men in Blue stop to show solidarity after Pahalgam attack. The PCB demanded the ICC to accept the request to resume the handshake, which the apex body did not accept.

Mohsin Naqvi is trying to end the rift between India and Pakistan

Now, Rohit Juglan has revealed on his YouTube channel that a number of important personalities are being invited to the match, as Pakistan tries to get things right. Emirates Cricket Board General Secretary Mubasshir Usmani is also included in this list. Representatives from the top five cricket boards, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh were also said to be included.

ICC Deputy Chairman Imran Khawaja, who played an important role in the entire matter, was also invited. Reports also suggest that Pankaj Khimji had also received an invitation from Oman. These developments pointed to the broader politics involved and the strategy that Pakistan was attempting to resolve the issue.

The issue of handshake between India and Pakistan will be resolved!

All high level representatives are being invited by Mohsin Naqvi to resolve the handshake issue. It has been suggested that certain conditions will be placed before BCCI and the Men in Blue and if they still refuse to join hands, it could have a negative impact.

The PCB and Mohsin Naqvi were earlier found to be in deep trouble after failing to garner support from other board members during his boycott stance.

There are discussions about making a new start, there are indications that both the teams and the captain can be seen shaking hands during the toss and after the match. At present this remains a rumor and no commitment has been made regarding future changes.

However, the most important development in the discussion was that both the arch rivals were expected to join hands with each other in the spirit of the game. After the Asia Cup, the Pakistan team held an emergency meeting and announced that they would not initiate a handshake unless the other side did so first, whether it involved women’s, under-19 or men’s cricket.

Are India and Pakistan ready for a new beginning?

Therefore, the handshake in this example would be the first clear sign of easing of tensions between the two countries. However, since this decision entirely depends on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the players and their national government, there will be no change till then.

The PCB also demanded a bilateral series between the two neighboring countries, which was rejected by the apex body. Since the decision to restart the series is not in the hands of ICC or BCCI, until the Government of India gives the green signal on this matter.
