Under the leadership of Shubman Gill, India won an exciting 6 -run win over England on the last day (Monday, August 4) of the series at Kennington Oval, London. In Blue, men finished the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy on a high note as the five-match series ended in a 2–2 draw.
England resumed the last day at 339/6, with Jamie Smith (2) and Jamie Overton (0) at the crease. The domestic team started aggressively, hit the boundaries on the first two balls and reduced the target to 27 runs. However, he lost one wicket in the next over as Mohammad Siraj gave success.

India bounced back with bat in second innings
Under the leadership of Oli Pope, England opted to bowl first in the fifth Test. After the dismissal of Yashsvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul, India fell to 33 for 2. Karun Nair made his comeback, put the innings in association with a solid 57. However, India lost their last four wickets for just 6 runs.
Gus Atkinson was a standout bowler for England, he claimed 5 wickets for 33 runs to burn India for 224. In response, openers Ben Docket and Zak Crolly provided a strong foundation with a 92 -run partnership.
India’s pacers returned in the second session. Mohammad Siraj and Prasad Krishna took four wickets to take out England for 247, leading to a narrow lead of 23 runs to the hosts.
In India’s second innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal led the charge with a brilliant 118. Akash Deep, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar contributed to every valuable half -century. Sundar added 39 runs with Prasad Krishna for the final wicket, which helped India reach a competitive total of 396.
