India is afraid of a major injury due to Mohammed Siraj getting injured by Hardik Pandya’s shot.

Another injury threat for Team India in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Ahead of their clash with South Africa for the Super 8 match, Mohammed Siraj suffered an injury.

During the nets, the fast bowler faced Hardik Pandya. According to reports, Siraj got a shock when Hardik Pandya’s ball hit his knees. The bowler was immediately in pain. Paramedics also came to provide some medical assistance.

How did Mohammed Siraj injure himself?

Mohammed Siraj’s injury can be a big blow for Team India, because after the injury of Harshit Rana, he is among the top pacers who deserve to be in the team. BCCI had initially not named Mohammad Siraj in the T20 World Cup 2026 team. Due to the sudden injury to Harshit Rana, the Hyderabad-born major has joined the camp for the tournament.

Siraj had bowled well against America before being dropped from the playing eleven. This was the first match of the tournament for Team India and the bowler finished with figures of 3/29.

The pain visible on Siraj’s face was proof that the shock was real. Hardik hit the ball hard and it went straight to the bowler’s other end, where the seamer was. Since the ball was going at high speed, the fast bowler did not get enough time to cover himself. However, there has been no official confirmation about this shock.

Ishan Kishan also got injured a few days ago

This is not the first time that the threat of injury has shaken Indian cricket fans. Recently, Ishan Kishan himself got injured during a net session. Although it was not serious, Ishan Kishan continued to shine as per the expectations.

But Abhishek Sharma’s health issues were a real threat to the team. Ahead of the opening match of India’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign, the opening batsman suffered an abdominal injury, which may have derailed his form.

Abhishek Sharma also gave tension to the team

The left-handed opening batsman could not even play in the India vs Namibia match due to stomach upset. Sharma made his comeback through the 15 February match, which was against Pakistan.

Having played 3 matches in the 2026 T20 World Cup, he is yet to register his first run in the competition.

India will take on South Africa in their next T20 World Cup 2026 fixtures. It will be a Super 8 match for the Men in Blue on February 22 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
