India women’s national cricket team created history by defeating England women’s national cricket team by 270 runs in the one-off Test at the prestigious Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on Monday (July 13).
It was a memorable day for the India women’s national cricket team as the touring side dominated the one-off Test from start to finish to register one of the biggest wins in women’s Test history. Earlier, Sachin Tendulkar had given a pep talk to the India women’s team during the Lord’s Test vs England.
India women create big test record by defeating England by 270 runs
The match was already special as it was the first women’s Test match played at Lord’s in the 142-year history of the famous stadium. India made the occasion even more memorable by thrashing England on their home ground with a brilliant all-round performance.
India had given a huge target of 457 runs to England. The hosts failed to cope with India’s disciplined bowling attack and were eventually bowled out for 186 runs on the final day.
With this famous win, Indian women created many records. This is now India’s second largest Test win by runs and one of the largest ever victory margins in women’s Test cricket.
