India and Pakistan are expected to end in the same group for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. The much awaited subcontinent T20 tournament, which was uncertain after the terrorist attack in Pahgam, can now be allegedly held in the proposed window in September.
The fate of the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 was discussed during the annual general meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in Dhaka on 24 July, and was attended by BCCI members online. The BCCI, which has hosting rights for the tournament, has agreed to stage it at a neutral location.

Initially, the BCCI had said that it would not attend the ACC annual general meeting in Dhaka due to diplomatic tension with Bangladesh. But finally, Vice President, Rajiv Shukla, almost attended the meeting on 24 July, to move forward with discussion on the event.

As reported by India today, the Indian Cricket Board has chosen Dubai and Abu Dhabi as the main option to organize the upcoming subcontinent T20 tournament. However, the BCCI signed an agreement with the Emirates Cricket Board to use its three stadiums, but only two are likely to be used for the upcoming Asia Cup T20 tournament.
Recently, several media reports claimed that India would not host or even participate in the tournament after a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, where many tourists were killed. But the latest reports claim that things have changed now, and the preparation for the tournament is moving forward.
Rajiv Shukla and Mohsin Naqvi soon to close the Asia Cup 2025 dates and places
Meanwhile, BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla and ACC President Mohsin Naqvi, who are also President of PCB, are expected to meet soon to confirm the schedule and places for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. They will also talk with sponsors to finalize all commercial schemes.
The 2025 Asia Cup T20 is expected to be held between September 7 and the third or fourth week of that month. It will also work as the right warm-up for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which is scheduled for February next year in India and Sri Lanka.

Asia Cup windfall depends on the BCCI stand on India vs Pakistan matches
On the other hand, most funds come from Indian sponsors and broadcasters for the Asian event. Sony Pictures Network India had bought media rights for Asia Cup events for eight years in a $ 170 million report.
This year, the 19-day Asia Cup 2025 window has at least two India vs. Pakistan Games facilities, and possibly a third if both teams reach the finals of the tournament. This would mean a major boost in advertising revenue.
However, it remains to be seen whether the BCCI will allow India-Pakistan clashes in the match due to stressful relations between the two countries.
