I would really wonder if India does not win its matches comfortably – Sunil Gavaskar

Recently, legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar said that India would be a favorite to win the Asia Cup 2025, and he would be surprised if Suryakumar Yadav -led side matches do not win comfortably.

Gavaskar, quoting Hindustan Times, said, “I will really wonder if India does not win its matches comfortably. All their matches, not only against Pakistan, but also against Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.”

“If they do not win comfortably, it would be a little surprising. Because the Indian team has actually really a luxurious team, in great touch and fantastic form.”

Sunil Gavaskar also said that the Asia Cup has lost its spark as the format has been switched between 20 overs and 50 overs cricket.

“It was primarily a 50 -over tournament. And in the last decade, or in the last decade, it has moved from a T20 tournament and more than 50 tournaments, it depends on what is the Big ICC tournament that is likely to be after the Asia Cup. One thing is the way you take up and down, when you take up its format.
