The ongoing series marks the return of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to international cricket for India on home soil.
Virat Kohli broke Ricky Ponting’s all time record
Virat Kohli is still in the record books as the 37-year-old made a much-awaited comeback to international cricket on home soil. He came to bat when Yashasvi Jaiswal caught Quinton de Kock off the ball of Nandre Berger.
Virat Kohli looked full of intent from the very first ball. He hit Nadre Berger with a stunning shot straight over his head and took his tally of sixes to 217, equaling his tally with former Australian captain Ricky Ponting.
Then, in the final over of the powerplay, Kohli stepped down from the crease and played an inside-out shot to collect another shot into the stands. Kohli now has the most number of sixes by a No. 3 batsman with 218* sixes across all formats of international cricket.

Rohit Sharma now holds the record for hitting most sixes in ODI cricket history.
Indian batsman Rohit Sharma completed his half-century in the 19th over of the game, reaching the milestone. Rohit scored his third consecutive half-century since the second ODI on Australia tour.
After completing his half-century, he hit Marco Jansen for a six over the fine leg boundary
