Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) are in advanced discussion to play a white-chain chain in the UAE in October 2024. According to a cricbose report, the proposed tour will include three ODIs and three T20Is, but the exact dates of the series are not yet confirmed.
Afghanistan and Bangladesh were originally set to play a full series in July 2024, with two tests, three Odis and three T20s. However, Bangladesh later requested a stay due to concerns over the player’s workload.
In response, the Afghanistan Cricket Board proposed a revised White-Ball series including Greater Noida, three ODIs in India and three T20I during July-August. However, it was also sheltered due to adverse monsoon weather and concerns over Bangladesh’s jam-pack schedule.

Afghanistan and Bangladesh are ready to play white-ball series in October
Afghanistan and Bangladesh are expected to play a white ball chain in early October, including three Odis and three T20I. After the series, Bangladesh will host the West Indies later in the month, while Afghanistan is scheduled to visit Zimbabwe.
The T20I series will help both teams in their preparation for the 2026 T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, which will give them a chance to finalize the team combinations.
This will be their first T20I meeting since the 2024 T20 World Cup struggle in Kingstown, where Afghanistan defeated Bungalow Tigers to reach their first semi -finals at an ICC event. The two sides were last met in November 2024, when Afghanistan won the ODI series 2–1.

Venue can be finalized yet for the series – Shahiar Nafees
Shahiar Nafees said that the series is expected to be in October, although the site is yet to be finalized. He clarified that an ODI series of the first three matches was not part of the tour that was redeemed in 2024.
“Although the site is yet to be finalized, the series is likely to be played in the coming October (2025) as per the series. Earlier we also played three ODIs against Afghanistan, but it was not a part of the tour that was re -determined in 2024,” said Nafees.
