The world of Pakistan cricket has been left in a state of disbelief after several explosive allegations made by Sania AshfaqEx-wife of star all-rounder Imad Wasim. In a series of shocking revelations on social media, Ashfaq has made serious allegations against the cricketer, ranging from emotional abandonment to “murderous” acts in relation to a forced medical procedure. The controversy has quickly moved beyond the sports pages, sparking a national conversation about accountability, the private lives of public symbols, and the protection of women’s rights in high-profile marriages.
Sania Ashfaq appeals to Mohsin Naqvi and Shahbaz Sharif regarding the allegations against Imad Wasim
Breaking her silence a few months after the divorce in December 2025, Ashfaq released an extremely personal video statement which has since gone viral. Her complaint centers on a traumatic incident in December 2023. Ashfaq alleges that she was forced to undergo an abortion, an experience she describes as a source of deep physical and emotional scarring. According to Ashfaq, the procedure was not her choice, and the lack of support from her then-husband further aggravated an already devastating situation.
“I am recording this video with great courage because I want the truth for my children and justice for the lives that were lost,” Ashfaq said. He claims that he has documentary evidence of these incidents and has publicly appealed to the highest offices of the country.
Ashfaq specifically called for Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin NaqviAnd Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif To bring attention to his plight. She is demanding a formal investigation into the matter, insisting that her goal is “respect and accountability” rather than personal revenge. Furthermore, she urged the Islamabad United franchise to review the conduct of their player, and stressed that no woman should have to endure such silent suffering.
“He is a murderer…”: Ashfaq’s allegations against Imad and revelations on WhatsApp
The controversy took an even darker turn when Ashfaq shared a third post late on Wednesday night, apparently labeling the cricketer a “killer” in relation to the lost pregnancy. To buttress his claims he released screenshots of the alleged WhatsApp conversation. These messages allegedly show Wasim’s severe lack of empathy during her pregnancy. Ashfaq claims that when she was carrying her child and looking for emotional support, she received legal threats instead of comfort.
The screenshot shows that when she reached out to Wasim to share the vulnerability of her pregnancy, he allegedly threatened to file a case of harassment against her if she continued contacting him. “I just asked him to see my unborn son… and instead, he threatened me,” she wrote.
Ashfaq’s story paints a picture of a systematic “negative campaign” launched against her on social media to suppress her voice. Coming forward now, she says that her primary motivation is the future of her children and to ensure that the “truth” behind the dissolution of her marriage and the loss of her unborn child is accepted by the public and authorities alike.
