ILT20 chief executive David White admitted that the event had to be moved due to players’ upcoming international commitments associated with the tournament. It has managed to attract some of the best players in the world, although this time SA20 and BBL proceedings clash.

White acknowledged the superb infrastructure and global standard in the UAE, which attracts good talent to the league and benefits the players participating in the league.

“I have been working here for three years and am enjoying it. We are promoting cricket in the region by running this league in a professional manner,” he said.

“There have been some problems in the window this year due to the T20 World Cup. Despite this, we have good players, even though there are two other leagues running simultaneously in the world. Our facilities are very good; we have three world-class grounds. This league is benefiting Emirati cricket a lot.”

He further said that the PCB has made the right decision by appointing him as their coach, as he will have a significant impact on their development, which has already started.
