The fifth and final Test match of the series between the India National Cricket Team and the England National Cricket Team, which is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27, began on 31 July.

Prior to the fifth test, England stood third on the points table with a PCT of 54.17, and India was fourth with a 33.33 PCT.
