The ICC World Test Championship Points Table 2025-27 has seen some changes after the conclusion of the second test of the five-match series between India and England.
The second Test match between Shubman Gill -led India National Cricket Team and Ben Stokes -led England National Cricket Team began on 2 July at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Shubman Gill makes history in the first innings
India was invited to bat first in the match by England after losing the toss, and he lost KL Rahul in an innings on an excellent batting track.
Yashasvi Jaiswal (87) and Karun Nair (31) shifted some speed back to India, but the return man Nair was again unable to play a long innings.
Captain Shubman Gill moved to bat in place of his new number 4 in the 24th over and played a prestigious knock, which remained in the middle until the 144th over.
Shubman Gill scored 269 off 387 balls, and his innings was hit with 30 fours and 3 sixes. He broke the record of Virat Kohli for the highest score by an Indian Test captain and after Kohli, he became the second Indian captain only to register a test double from the house. He also became the second youngest Indian captain to conduct a double step after Mak Pasudi and recorded the highest score by an Asian test captain outside the subcontinent.
Gill was very well supported by the late lower -order batsmen in the innings and Ravindra Jadeja (89) and Washington Sundar (42) contributed well and ran India on a huge score of 587.
India Clinic historic victory against England
In their first innings with the ball, India landed for an extraordinary start as Akash Deep and Mohammad Siraj made the three lions 25/3. The grief for England did not end there, as Mohammad Sirj’s twin attacks sent the route and Ben Stokes back to continuous delivery and the hosts were reduced by 84/5.
It seemed that England would be easily taken down by 200 runs, but Harry Brook and Jamie Smith did not let this happen and sewed a historic partnership.
The England pair put a 303 -run stand together, in which Harry Brook broke 158 and Jamie Smith an unbeaten 184*. England were eventually excluded for 407, leading to India to lead by 180 runs, as Mohammad Sirj took 6 wickets and Akash Deep 4.
Meanwhile, India in their second innings along with the bat set a pile of 427/6 in their second innings, before the target of 608 runs for Bazballers. Shubman Gill broke a historic 161, while KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja killed the nice fifties.
Defending the target, Akash Deep and Mohammad Siraj gave India a concrete start and reduced the English team by 50/3. Then, on the last day after a delay, Akash Deep fulfilled his 6-vicity and got good support from others as India bowled for 271 to England to win 336 runs. This was the first Test win for Team India in Edgbaston in Birmingham.
