Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has been punished by the ICC for his “abusive language and aggressive gestures” during the Super 4 clash against India in the Asia Cup 2025. Opener Sahibzada Farhan, who celebrated his half-century with a “gun-fire” gesture in the same match, received a warning from the ICC.
India and Pakistan played against each other during the first group stage match after the initiative terrorist attack in April. Suryakumar Yadav and the Indian team decided to escape the handshake with Pakistan players before and after the matches.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) complained to the ICC that the match referee Andy Pycroft had denied the situation and requested it to be removed. The ICC rejected the request, threatening to withdraw Pakistan. In particular, the referee apologized to the team for a possible “wrong communication”.

Meanwhile, India captain Suryakumar Yadav was also recommended for 30% fine for his comments. All three players had requested not to be guilty during the hearing. Both BCCI and PCB are expected to appeal for the recommendations of the match referee.
Haris Rauf, Farhan and Suryakumar did not blame everyone. However, it remains to be seen whether Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan have been fined even more.

India is ready to take Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final
India are set to take the Asia Cup 2025 finals at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, 28 September in Pakistan. In particular, both staunch rivals will be found in the Asia Cup final for the first time.
