
International Cricket Council (ICC) has put an end to speculations by officially confirming Pakistan’s participation in all its scheduled matches ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. This also includes the much-awaited match against India to be held in Colombo on 15th February.
The announcement issued by the ICC on Monday comes after several days of uncertainty over Pakistan’s participation amid ongoing administrative discussions. With this confirmation, fans around the world can now look forward to one of cricket’s most intense rivalries on the global stage.
ICC emphasizes unity, neutrality and commitment to the game
In its official statement, the ICC highlighted the constructive dialogue it had with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), underscoring the shared responsibility of all member boards to maintain the integrity of ICC events.
“The talks between the ICC and the PCB took place as part of a broader engagement recognizing the need for constructive behavior and being united, committed and purposeful to serve the best interests of the game.” The statement said. It emphasized values such as integrity, neutrality and cooperation as essential pillars to ensure the success of the tournament going forward.
The ICC confirmed that all member states are expected to honor their commitments under the agreed participation terms, strengthening stability and confidence in global cricket governance.
The high-profile India vs Pakistan match will take place on February 15.
