Pakistan players made a big start in the latest ICC T20Is rankings announced by the governing body of the game on Wednesday (September 10).
Due to the Asia Cup 2025, many Pakistan bowlers have given a big boost to their team by performing well in the recently concluded T20I Tri-series, including Afghanistan and hosts, UAEs.
Male UAE T20I in green comes at the top of the three -series
In Green, men scored 75 runs to Afghanistan and achieved the Tri-series in the final. Left-arm spinner Sufiyan Muqim has moved up to seven places in total after taking two wickets in the final.

Pace Spearhead Shaheen Afridi has moved four spots to 22nd, while leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed has taken 39 spots to 27th position after taking six wickets in two matches.
Pakistan’s left -handed spinner Mohammad Nawaz was postponed for his 10 wickets and has earned a huge amount in the ICC rankings. He has secured 13th position in total.
Among the batsmen, opener Fakhar Zaman has taken nine places to 68th position after scoring 155 runs in the TRAI-series. Sri Lankan star Kusal Perera has also secured three places in Harare against Zimbabwe to ninth after half a century.
Pakistan Eye Asia Cup Glory
After receiving the Tri-Series, Pakistan’s eyes are set on the Asia Cup. The continental championship was going on with the match between Afghanistan and the UAE on Tuesday (September 9). Pakistan is with Champions India, UAE and Oman in Group A.
The top two teams of each group will qualify for Super Four. The Salman Ali Aga -led side will open its Asia Cup campaign against Oman on Friday (September 12) before going to India on 14 September. His last group game against UAE is on 17 September.
Salman Ali Aga says that the team is ready to unimpress
Speaking after winning the Asia Cup, Ali Aga said that he and his companions focus on winning the Asia Cup completely.
Ali Aga said, “This series was difficult for us in Sharjah here, but our focus was always on the preparation of the Asia Cup.”
He said, “Of course, we wanted to win, but the big goal was preparing. As a team, we are building well since the Bangladesh series. We are in good shape, and I believe we are fully prepared for the Asia Cup,” he said.
