A new India vs Pakistan controversy has started to arise due to PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi’s thoughtless support to BCB. The PCB chief supported Bangladesh and wrote a letter to the ICC supporting their petition, following which a meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday to discuss the issues.

The Bangladesh vs India controversy has been the talk of the town ever since Bangladesh started citing security concerns about traveling to India and refused to participate in the ICC T20 World Cup being hosted by the neighboring country. He urged the ICC to change the venue and give it to co-host Sri Lanka.

PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi, who has been the main villain for the BCCI in recent times and supports any movement against the prestigious board, has once again tried to stir up a controversy which could reignite the controversies ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup.

Latest controversy between India vs Pakistan before ICC T20 World Cup

After the BCB objected to the trip to India, several claims were made by the board, which was angered by the board’s disrespect and mistreatment of Mustafizur Rahman. However, the ICC has rejected such claims and clearly stated that there are no security concerns in the country.

The ICC has decided to host the final board meeting and BCB officials will be given a final chance to discuss their issues on Wednesday. However, ICC’s stance remains the same: there will be no changes to the schedule of ICC events.

A report in ESPNcricinfo states that the PCB has written an email to the ICC supporting BCB’s claim that it will not play in the country at a time when there is huge political turmoil. He has also copied the ICC board members on this. However, the Jay Shah-led board is in no mood to back down even an inch.

PCB is supporting BCB’s stand without thinking

From day one, the PCB has been supporting BCB’s demand without even considering the logistical challenges that the international body would face if it accepts their claims of shifting their matches to a different venue or attempting to change the group with another team.

Earlier, in an unconfirmed report, the PCB had also extended its support to the BCB by taking up the responsibility of hosting their games if the ICC allows them to do so for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Another report claimed that the PCB would consider withdrawing from the competition if the Bangladesh issue remained unresolved.

All this gives rise to another dispute brewing between the India and Pakistan sides. Pakistan does not need to interfere in these matters, as their matches including the India vs Pakistan match are scheduled in Sri Lanka, yet the board keeps creating a new nuisance every time.

PCB official denies pulling out of World Cup over Bangladesh issue

When reports began speculating about a possible withdrawal from the PCB as BCB’s claims were rejected by the ICC, a PCB official revealed that no such plan has been made or even discussed with the Pakistan Cricket Board.

They also cited that since all their matches, including the India vs Pakistan rivalry contest, are scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka and their players are not facing visa issues, they have no reason to oppose any of the ICC’s views.

The India vs Pakistan contest still remains one of the most anticipated games in the ICC event, as both the rival teams meet only once or twice a year, and that too in these international competitions.
