The final chapter of the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is about to open. The final leg of the title race is going to be between India and New Zealand. The winner will also get a handsome prize along with the T20 World Cup trophy.
Team India is a strong contender to win the trophy on home soil at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. If the Suryakumar Yadav-led side can claim the silverware, they will be the first in the history of the tournament to defend their title, and that too on home soil. How much money will Team India get if it defeats New Zealand in the grand finale?
Ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 tournament, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the total prize money, which is equivalent to $13.5 million i.e. approximately Rs 125 crore. The prize money is 20 percent more than the ICC 2024 T20 World Cup.
Needless to say, the winner will get the most lucrative amount compared to other participants in the tournament. According to media reports, the winning team of the summit match of T20 World Cup 2026 will receive $ 3 million (approximately Rs 27.60 crore) along with the trophy. If India wins by defeating New Zealand, the Men in Blue will take home around Rs 27.60 crore along with the silverware.
The runner up will also get a good salary. The losing team between India and New Zealand will be given a check of $1.6 million (approximately Rs 14.7 crore).
Every participant of T20 World Cup 2026 will get a huge amount
Apart from India and New Zealand, the other two semi-final teams – South Africa and New Zealand – will each get $790,000 (approximately Rs 7.26 crore).
The teams that are out of the Super 8 stage of the competition will also not be left empty handed. Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Zimbabwe and West Indies, who qualified for the Super 8, will each get $380,000 (about Rs 3.5 crore). All the teams present in the group stage will get $250,000 (approximately Rs 2.30 crore) each.

5. Teams eliminated from the group will get approximately Rs 2.30.
