Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are at their home ground MA Chidambaram Stadium to play their first match of the 19th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). CSK face Shreyas Iyer’s Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their first home match of IPL 2026.
The stadium is filled to capacity while the captain walks into the middle for the toss. In the 7th match of the edition, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to bowl first. CSK, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, received a warm welcome from their fans at the stadium.
Ian Bishop apologizes to CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad
After the toss, when Ian Bishop went to talk to the CSK captain, the reaction of the crowd was so loud that Bishop could not hear properly what Gaikwad said to him. After waiting for some time, Bishop Ruturaj came closer to Gaikwad so that he could hear him properly. Bishop apologized to the cameraman and the new captain for walking out of the camera frame.
Bishop, speaking to Gaekwad, said, “I don’t know. I don’t know for how long. Let me come closer. I apologize to the camera. I’m sorry this is taking so long because of the noise and cheering. I’m sorry for not being able to hear you and making it so long.”
