
Experienced Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar It has made it clear that despite being sidelined from Team India since 2022, they have no plans to retire from cricket. The swing bowler, who continues to perform in the domestic tournament and IPL, insisted that he is playing and contributing to the field as long as he is fit.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar broke silence on rumors of retirement
In a recent interview during UP T20 LeagueBhubaneswar addressed speculation about his future in cricket.
“I’m enjoying my bowling. I have not yet thought about retirement. As long as I am fit, I will keep playing, the rest of the selectors are,” He told Dainik Jagran.
Pesar, 35, insisted that whenever he takes the field, his responsibility is to give his best, and he hopes that the continuous performance in domestic and franchise cricket will be seen.
Even though he is out of the national team setup, Bhubaneswar has influenced both domestic circuit and IPL. In the UP T20 League, he took nine wickets in eight matches, with the economy rate of seven runs per over.
His experience and skills were also important in the winning of RCB’s historic Maden IPL title in 2025, where he claimed 17 wickets in 14 matches. These numbers outline their ability to remain effective in high pressure environment and against world class batsmen.

Since his final presence for India in 2022, Bhubaneswar has been ignored by the selectors despite the solid domestic form. Reflection on this, he admitted, “No matter how well you perform, sometimes luck never takes your side.”
However, the pacer is not disappointed. He continues to focus on his fitness, skills and contribution to domestic cricket, leaving the decision of a potential national return for the selectors.
For now, Bhuvi committed to the game, domestic tournament and franchise cricket with its instantaneous priorities, where his experience and swing bowling continues to make an impact. He confirmed that he would continue to try as long as his body allows him to explain the discussions of retirement.
With the preparation of major assignments including the 2025 Asia Cup and the 2027 ODI World Cup cycle, his statement assured fans that experienced pacer has not yet been done.
