Experienced Indian pacer Mohammed Shami A major signal about his IPL future has dropped, suggesting that he could be out for the Lucknow Super Veterans (LSG) in the upcoming season. Comments come after a difficult IPL 2025 campaign with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) owned by Kavya Maran, who signed him for ₹ 10 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction.
A rollercaster IPL journey for Mohammed Shami
Next to IPL 2025 Retants, Shami was released by Gujarat Titans (GT), a franchise where he was central for his success. His move for SRH made headlines, but the season did not happen according to the plan. Returning to competitive cricket in January, Shami fought for the rhythm, finishing with just six wickets in nine matches. Speaking to News24, Shami addressed speculation around her next step. He admitted that he would welcome the opportunity to play for LSG but insisted that the decisions of retention and release lie with the franchise. “I am ready to play for any team that increases the paddle for me (in auction). There is nothing in my hands. He said, underlining the unexpectedness of the auction.

Meanwhile, for LSG, Shami’s exit time from SRH may be correct. The IPL 2025 campaign Fris Lucknow-based franchise was interrupted by the injuries of Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan, leaving Avesh Khan as a loan fitline pacer.
