According to Geo News, Pakistan cricketer Haider Ali has been removed from rape charges in the United Kingdom. The Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed that insufficient evidence was present to continue the investigation, resulting in a formal shutdown of the case.
The 24-year-old was arrested on August 4 at the Spitfire County Cricket Ground in Kent following allegations of attack by a British-Pakistani woman. He said that he first met at a Manchester Hotel on July 23, where the alleged incident took place, and again before filing his complaint at Ashford on 1 August.

Hyder Ali denied the allegations, described the woman as a friend and called the claims “shocking” and “wrong”. He fully collaborated with the officials during the investigation and was released on bail.

After weeks examined, UK officials approved a 24 -year -old cricketer, cited inadequate evidence to move forward. The case was further weakened that it was suggested by the consent of the hotel encounter and late in filing complaints.
Hyder Ali has returned his passport and is now free to travel. He was arrested on August 4 while touring with Pakistan Shaheen and was taken into custody from Kent’s Spitfire County Cricket Ground before being taken to Cantabury Police Station.

Hyder Ali, born in Attok in October 2000, was considered one of the talents of Pakistan’s bright white ball. He made his international debut in 2020, featuring 35 T20I and two ODIs, with his latest outing at the 2023 Asian Games in China.
In T20Is, ALI has scored 505 runs at a strike rate of 17.41 and 124.69 on an average, including three half -centuries. In Odis, he has 42 runs from an average of 21 on an average from two matches.
Ali also served as the vice-captain of the U19 side of Pakistan during the 2020 ICC U19 World Cup, which ended as the team’s third highest scorer with 107 runs in five matches.
Domestically, he represented Peshawar Zalmi, Karachi Kings and Islamabad Ekta in the Pakistan Super League and was part of Pakistan’s squad for the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not yet commented on its recent legal matters.
Pakistan is competing in the Tri-Nation series against UAE and Afghanistan
Pakistan is currently participating in a three-nation series against UAE and Afghanistan as part of the 2025 Asia Cup preparation. He has won two of his first three matches so far.
The 17th Asia Cup will be in the United Arab Emirates from 9 to 28 September in the T20 format. The tournament is particularly important before the 2026 T20 World Cup, which India and Sri Lanka will co-make.
Group A includes India, Pakistan, Oman and UAE, while Group B consists of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Hong Kong. The top two teams of each group will progress on the Super Four Stage, where each team once plays others.
Both the Super Four sides will hit the finals in Dubai. India entered the tournament as a defending champion and remains the most successful team with eight titles.
