Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif exposed Shoaib Akhtar during a live conversation. Kaif said that by criticizing the Pakistan cricket team, the former Pakistan fast bowler was actually trying to take away the excellence of Team India, which they had shown by defeating the arch-rivals in Colombo on February 15.
On Sunday, India got a spectacular victory over Pakistan. The defending champions won the match with a victory of 61 runs. Many former cricketers strongly criticized the Pakistan cricket team for performing poorly in such a high-profile match.
Shoaib Akhtar blasts bomb on Pakistan Cricket Board
Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar launched an all-out attack on the Pakistan Cricket Board, especially its chief Mohsin Naqvi. Right after the India vs Pakistan match, Akhtar said via ABP News that the man who is currently at the top of Pakistan’s cricket ecosystem knows nothing about the game.
“A man who knows nothing has become the president of the Pakistan Cricket Board. What can you do? How will the team be run?” He said.
Mohammad Kaif is not happy with Akhtar’s words!
However, Mohammad Kaif was not happy with Akhtar’s statement, as the former Pakistani cricketer did not say anything encouraging about Indian cricket. Kaif believes that if Pakistan had won the match, perhaps Shoaib Akhtar would have issued some statement against the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Speaking to ABP News, Kaif said, “Ever since we started the show, I am not happy, because you are saying that Pakistan team is anyway weak and has no energy. If that team had won today, 100% Shoaib Akhtar would have been saying right now that BCCI is arrogant, there is too much ego among the players.”
Mohammad Kaif wanted to show that Shoaib Akhtar had said this only about Pakistan, not about Indian cricket. Kaif’s comments are valid, because the result of every match has two sides – one related to the winning team and the other related to the losing team. Akhtar chose to say only about the latter.
“I want to say that by showing Pakistan as weak, you are taking away India’s superiority. You are just showing that Pakistan is in trouble, there is no order there, but what difference does it make to India?” Mohammad Kaif raised the question.
Mohammad Kaif also praised Ishan Kishan
The former Indian cricketer also praised Ishan Kishan’s brilliant inning of 77 runs even though he had to face a lot of pressure.
He said, “Ishan Kishan, who is playing against Pakistan for the first time – how much pressure will there be on him; we are not talking about that. Give credit to the Indian players because they are playing in such conditions, imagine if they had lost, there would have been an outcry.”
With the help of Ishan Kishan’s 77 runs off 40, India scored 175 runs in 20 overs, which was a good score considering the nature of the pitch. In reply, Pakistan could score only 114 runs before losing its last wicket on the last ball of the 18th over.
