Johnny Bairstow has been running his international future in hundred 2025 with the England National Cricket Team. Johnny Bairstow is currently playing for Welsh Fire in the 100 -ball tournament at home.

Bairstow played a spectacular knock of 86 unbeaten runs off 50 balls with six borders and several sixes during the opening for Welsh Fire, but it was not enough, as the London Spirit managed to win eight runs at Sophia Garden in Cardiff on Saturday, 9 August.

Johnny Bairstow Uncertain about England’s future

After the match at Cardiff on Saturday, Johnny Bairstow admitted that he was not sure of his return to the international field in England’s colors. Bairstow told the BBC Sports, “Look, if an England remembers it, but I think it is suspicious, looking at the fact that I have not really heard much.”

Earlier, David Warner made a brilliant knock of 70* to help the London Spirit Post 163/5 off the board in 100 balls. Later, Warner was named Player of the Match for his outstanding batting show in a hundred clash against Welsh Fire at Sophia Garden.

Meanwhile, Johnny Bairstow has been sidelined from England. He last played a T20I game for England against India in the T20 World Cup semi -finals on June 27, 2024, while his last ODI attendance came in the 2023 World Cup group stage against Pakistan at the Eden Gardens.

Bairstow last played a Test match against India in Dharmasala in March 2024. This was his 100th Test match, making him only the 17th player in history to reach that landmark. Bairstow never played a certain role in England’s Test setup throughout his career.

However, when England adopted the aggressive “Bazball” style, Bairstow immediately concluded and became one of his early heroes in 2022. His fearless batting helped England validate his famous view of the game for the longest time.

Recently, Bairstow left for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025. In two matches, he scored 85 runs after replacing England batsman Will Jack.
