The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 has just started, but it has already turned the rankings upside down. Some of the biggest names in women’s cricket have made huge profits after stellar performances, while some stars have slipped after disappointing starts.
West Indies captain Hayley Matthews made headlines in the updated ICC T20I rankings. Mathews tops the ICC women’s T20I all-rounder rankings again. India’s Deepti Sharma also got a big lead after her brilliant performance against Pakistan.

Hayley Matthews regained the No. 1 all-rounder spot; Mellie Kerr slips after poor start in ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026
Matthews produced a match-winning performance during West Indies’ seven-wicket victory over New Zealand in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. She played a brilliant inning of 48 runs and also dismissed White Ferns superstar Sophie Devine to gain a huge lead in the rankings.
That performance helped Hayley Matthews take the No. 1 all-rounder spot from New Zealand’s Mellie Kerr. There has been a very close contest between Matthews and Kerr for a long time, but the West Indies all-rounder has now overtaken the New Zealand player in the T20 rankings.
The main reason for losing the top spot was that Kerr did not get any wicket against West Indies in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 match and could score only five runs.

Deepti Sharma and Katherine Bryce have made big gains in all-rounder rankings.
Talking about India, Deepti Sharma’s brilliant five-wicket haul against Pakistan took her to third place in the T20I all-rounder rankings. Scotland captain Katherine Bryce also made a memorable appearance after her impressive performance against Ireland.
Bryce is back in the top 10 all-rounders. On the other hand, England spinner Lynsey Smith remains the world number one bowler in the ICC T20I rankings. Young Indian spinner Shree Charnani has moved up five places to No. 2 and now needs just one brilliant performance to overtake Smith.
Deepti Sharma also reached fifth place in the rankings for bowlers. By the way, New Zealand fast bowler Jess Kerr has also climbed six places to reach 16th position. Scotland’s Katherine Fraser climbed six places to 28th, while Katherine Bryce climbed 15 places to joint 42nd.
Georgia Woll retains No. 1 batsman status
There have been only minor changes in the batting rankings. After her inning of 44 runs against Australia, South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt has come to second place. Australia’s Georgia Woll continues to top the batting list, while Phoebe Litchfield has moved into the top 10 after scoring a brilliant half-century against South Africa.
England batsman Danny Wyatt has also made a big jump after his brilliant century against Sri Lanka, reaching a career-best new ranking of 14th.
Indian star Smriti Mandhana remains at the fifth position in the ICC T20I batting rankings, while Shafali Verman is at the seventh position. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur slipped to 11th position. Jemimah Rodrigues also slipped to 13th in the updated T20 rankings.
