Hasan Ali taken off on stretcher after suffering horrific head injury in Bangladesh vs Pakistan 2nd Test

The Pakistan national cricket team faced a massive scare during the ongoing second and final Test against Bangladesh when fast bowler Hasan Ali suffered a horrific head injury while trying to drop a catch at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on the first day.

In a nightmare moment, Hasan crashed badly on the pitch while attempting to take a catch in Sylhet. This shocking moment left the players, support staff and fans really worried as the fast bowler fell on the ground holding his head in obvious pain.

The incident occurred in the 8th over of Bangladesh’s innings on May 16 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Hasan Ali bowled a short ball outside the off stump to Tanjid Hasan Tamim. The ball went past the batsman after being pitched.

Tanzeed tried to play it a little early towards the leg side, but the timing was not good; As a result, the ball took the top edge of the bat and bounced back towards Hasan. It was almost a chance of catch-and-bowl as Hasan extended his right hand while completing his bowling action, but the fast bowler could only get his fingers on the ball.

While trying to stop the catch, Hasan Ali completely lost his balance and fell awkwardly on the ground. During the fall, the right side of his head hit the turf hard and the Pakistani fast bowler immediately caught his head and pinned it to the ground, which left everyone shocked.

Pakistan’s physio arrived on the field and provided medical treatment for several minutes. Hassan was feeling dizzy and uncomfortable while the medical team examined him carefully. Soon, a stretcher was brought onto the field as anxiety grew inside the Pakistani camp.

Afterwards, the support staff helped Hasan onto a stretcher before taking him off the field for further medical treatment. As tension increased in the camp, Pakistan head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul were also seen having a serious discussion near the boundary line.

Now it will be interesting to see whether Pakistan will be allowed to make concussion substitutes, as Pakistan is already playing with only four main bowlers in the match. Therefore, losing Hasan on the first day will be a big blow for Shan Masood’s team in the ongoing second Test against Bangladesh. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not shared any update on Hasan yet.

On the other hand, Bangladesh has lost three wickets for 63 runs on the first day of the ongoing second Test against Pakistan. Currently, Bangladesh’s score is 76/3 in 18.3 overs, with the touring team having the upper hand this season.

Mohammad Abbas was aggressive as he dismissed opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy for a duck and then dismissed his partner Tanzeed Hasan Tamim for 26 runs off 34 balls. After Abbas’s quick spell, Khurram Shahzad made an immediate impact by replacing Shaheen Afridin with Mominul Haq for just 22 runs.
