World Cup-winning Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur has teased PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi and the Pakistan team through a video where she is ‘cheering’ with the World Cup trophy using a coffee mug.
India women won their first World Cup title against South Africa Women in the final of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. Harmanpreet Kaur led India in her first World Cup final and led them to a huge victory.
Smriti Mandhana was their top scorer, followed by Pratika Rawal. Deepti Sharma was the leading wicket-taker throughout the tournament, and Shafali Verma, who had played just two games in the World Cup, was the game-winning star for the Women in Blue in the final.
Indian captain celebrating with the World Cup trophy
After winning the trophy, the Indian team celebrated in many ways. Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana bought a wheelchair for her opening partner Pratika Raval to celebrate her victory. Later, she was seen posing with the trophy in her room, along with semi-final hero Jemimah Rodrigues and two other Indian stars, Radha Yadav and Arundhati Reddy.
Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur was seen in an Instagram video where she is cheering her coffee cup with the World Cup trophy. Many people have considered it as making fun of Pakistan, because it was started by Varun Chakraborty to make fun of Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed.
Moreover, this happened after PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi had denied India the opportunity to receive the Asia Cup trophy. Therefore, the Indian women’s team captain flaunting the World Cup appeared to be mocking her.
