Harmanpreet Kaur’s candid answer left a reporter in a state of confusion when she was asked about her retirement. Ahead of the ICC Women’s T20I World Cup 2026, the captains of all the participating teams attended a joint press conference in England. Karu was representing the Indian women’s cricket team there.
Journalists asked many types of questions to the Team India captain, but when she was asked about her retirement plans, Harmanpreet Kaur’s answers were sharp and directly pointing towards the questioner. It seemed that the captain was not too happy with that topic, especially when the team is heading towards a tournament like the World Cup.

Harmanpreet Kaur’s answers were cold and sharp
Kaur’s answer is going viral on social media platforms as some cricket fans liked the way Harmanpreet Kaur answered the question. Nowadays, cricketers who have crossed thirty often face questions about their retirement.
During the press conference of all the captains, a reporter asked Harmanpreet Kaur, “Is this your last World Cup? What would you like to say about it?” Maintaining a cool voice, Harmanpreet Kaur replied, “Why is this my last World Cup? Do you want me to retire?”
The reporter probably did not expect such a response from the cricketer, so he was on the wrong note and looked a little uncomfortable. To handle the situation, the reporter added, “No, I just wanted to know. I’m glad to hear that this isn’t your last World Cup.” This time, the captain’s reply was even more pointed than before, asking, “Then why are you asking this?”
