India’s focus is on its experienced batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in Australia, while they await the return of Rishabh Pant in Tests and Hardik Pandya in limited overs cricket. Hardik was ruled out of the Asia Cup final against Pakistan due to a quadriceps injury.
BCCI’s medical bulletin has finally revealed the probable date of Hardik’s return. Meanwhile, India will have to continue with Nitish Kumar Reddy for the Australia tour. The all-rounder has already replaced Pandya in the ODI XI and is likely to make a comeback in the T20s as well.
Hardik Pandya will return before the white ball tour of South Africa
Veteran Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya returned to the BCCI Center of Excellence last week to report his injury after being ruled out of the Asia Cup final. The good news is that the all-rounder will not require surgery for his quadriceps injury. He has started rehabilitation under the supervision of BCCI physicians.
As per TOI report, Pandya is likely to return before the India vs South Africa white ball series, ending his 4-week long stay at BCCI’s CoE in Bengaluru.
