Hardik Pandya’s ideal IPL 2027 destination after MI exit is not CSK or KKR

table of contents

It has been widely reported that Hardik Pandya is all set to leave Mumbai Indians ahead of the new season of the Indian Premier League in 2027. As news started emerging about Pandya’s future in the league, fans became curious to know about his next move.

Since there are several teams, including Lucknow Super Giants, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings, who are reportedly skeptical about their current captains, Hardik Pandya is likely to be in demand ahead of the IPL 2027 season. But, there is another team where the pace bowling all-rounder can find himself the best fit. This is Gujarat Titans (GT), Pandya’s former IPL team, where he won the title in 2022 as captain.

Why Hardik Pandya would be the best fit for Gujarat Titans?

1. He will strengthen GT’s middle order

Hardik Pandya is one of the most famous all-rounders in modern cricket. Despite his poor relationship as the captain of Mumbai Indians, there is no doubt about his batting and bowling skills. GT, who has a strong top order but a relatively weak middle order, may look more balanced with Hardik Pandya in the middle order.

2. Give them a finisher

The finisher is one of the most sought-after positions in the T20 format. There are some rising names, but Hardik Pandya is one of those rare talents who has been doing it for a long time. Washington Sundar, Jason Holder and Rahul Tewatia form the middle order of Gujarat Titans. They are all talented batsmen, but none of them are designated finishers.

3. Can play without captaincy

Captaincy often comes with an additional burden. Under the added extra pressure, players sometimes find it very difficult to perform to their true potential. With Shubman Gill as the leader of GT, Pandya can relieve himself of extra pressure. Additionally, he has a good relationship with Gill, which can help the all-rounder perform with added confidence and courage.

4. Good bonding with Ashish Nehra

Behind the consistently good performance, Ashish Nehra is playing an unknown role behind the scenes. The GT chief also has a good relationship with PANIDA. During Pandya’s tenure with Gujarat Titans, the duo did not get good performances at all, giving the team a chance to perform quite well.

5. GT’s fast bowling will solve the all-rounder problem

Fast bowling all-rounders are another department where the team is lacking. Jason Holder is the only one handling this role. If Hardik is included, it will balance the team composition and also strengthen the overall strength of the team.

6. No differences between Pandya and GT

Pandya’s move from Gujarat Titans to Mumbai Indians was controversial, but there were no reports of a single hairline rift between Pandya and GT’s relationship. So, it wouldn’t be wrong to assume that he has left the franchise on a good note, and can feel free to rejoin it.
