Hardik Pandya remains in Mumbai while the rest of the Mumbai Indians (MI) squad travels to Dharamshala to face Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the next IPL 2026 clash. MI captain-designate Hardik Pandya shared a video on his Instagram story late on Tuesday night.
The video shows Hardik Pandya taking batting practice alone in the nets with the assistance of throwdown experts and net bowlers. Since he did not travel to Dharamshala with the team, it is unclear whether he will go there before the match on May 14.

Hardik Pandya could not play in some matches due to back problem.
Pandya could not play some matches due to back spasms and he may also not play in the Punjab Kings match. He missed MI’s previous game, which was against Royal Challengers Bangalore, but made a late arrival in Raipur to support Mumbai. Hence, he may miss the PBKS vs MI match, but it is too early to predict his presence at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.

Mumbai Indians head coach Mahela Jayawardene was angry after the team’s match against RCB in Raipur. In a low-scoring encounter, RCB managed to win on the last ball of the match and eliminated MI from the tournament.
Mahela Jayawardene said after the match, “Yeah, I mean this season has been disappointing. We had chances. We weren’t good enough. We weren’t consistent with the ball and the bat and that showed the margin.”
