Harbhajan Singh criticizes former Pakistan fast bowler: The India vs Pakistan rivalry has continued for years. The rivalry off the field has become more intense since the advent of social media. After several weeks of drama with Pakistan boycotting the game against India in the 2026 T20 World Cup, they finally agreed to play the match, which is scheduled to be held on February 15 at the R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.
Ahead of the match, former cricketers from India and Pakistan took their off-field rivalry into their own hands. Harbhajan Singh has criticized former Pakistan cricketer Tanvir Ahmed for his comments where he said something about the legendary India player in an interview with Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq, who was in the news for his unique action in the ILT20. Tanvir’s comment angered the former World Cup winner, prompting Harbhajan to give a befitting reply.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Harbhajan said, “This video is for a tuccha insaan (insignificant human being) who has said some things about me. Ideally, I don’t even know who he is, but because I watch again and again, he does his drama on some platform or the other.”
“First of all, I want to know who this guy is. Do you even know him? His name is Tanvir Ahmed. He has played some 3-4 matches for Pakistan, and he behaves like he is Imran Khan, or Wasim Akram or Waqar Younis. You should be ashamed.”

Harbhajan Singh referred to the controversy where Tanvir Ahmed had commented against the former Indian cricketer’s commentary and broadcasting stint in the ILT20.
Bhajji said, “I was playing my role as a broadcaster in the ILT20. What is the role of a broadcaster? When someone wins the man of the match award, you ask him questions, right? Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq took three wickets and won the match for his team. As a broadcaster, I should obviously ask him questions.”
Harbhajan Singh further said, “But when I did this, this boy [Tanvir Ahmed] There was a problem. If I had not asked him questions, he would have again felt that since he was from Pakistan, I did not ask him questions. He said, wherever I see Pakistani cricketers, I hang around them.
Tanvir Ahmed has played 8 matches for Pakistan in all formats and he is working as a panelist for some TV shows in Pakistan. He has often been a part of controversies regarding his comments.
Finally, Harbhajan Singh finally said, “Listen to me. I don’t even know who you are. No great player produced by Pakistan says such a thing. They are very respected. But people like you, who have never achieved anything, can only sit on cheap channels and talk nonsense. You don’t have the etiquette to speak. That’s the difference between a player who has played 5 matches and a player who has played 100 matches.”
“So Tanveer Ahmed, look at yourself and stop talking nonsense. As far as I’m concerned, just stop the discussion. Next time it happens, teri dhajjiya udda dunga (I will destroy you). So get lost.”
India will hope to continue its winning streak against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. As they are on a 7-1 lead in the competition and have yet to lose a single game in their last five matches across all competitions.
