The tension between India and Pakistan has reached a boiling point after the struggle of its latest Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai on 14 September. The handshake dispute began in the toss, where Suryakumar Yadav refused to join hands with Pakistani captain Salman Ali Aga or did not talk, and he did the same after the match.
As soon as the winning runs were scored, Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dubey went directly to the Indian dressing room without exchange of pleasures with Pakistani players.
The shocking thing is that a member of the assistant employees, after winning the Asia Cup 2025 matches by seven wickets in Dubai, quickly closed the door to avoid any conversation with Pakistani players.

Why is Handshek the most important ritual of cricket?
Handsheakes in cricket are a very important part of the game’s tradition and spirit, and there is a long -standing tradition for players of both teams.
After a match ends, the players of both teams, along with the umpires, shake hands as a way to show respect, sportsmanship and encouragement before leaving the field, which gives everyone a chance to congratulate or encourage each other, no matter who won or lost.
Handshek occurs even before the game starts. Both team captains meet on the field and shake hands, usually in front of cameras and fans. This formal greeting is arranged by the match referee and marks the official onset of the game, and the captains may also have some professional talks.
The match is also part of the protocol for referee, which is to hold a meeting with captains, head coaches or team managers before the game for rules, schedule or any concern. These pre-match and post-match interaction are to keep cricket professional, friendly and fair.
