Former Delhi Capital (DC) all-rounder Gulbadin Naib has chosen his all-time United India-Afghanistan Xi before the 2025 Asia Cup, which is scheduled to begin on 9 September in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Naib excluded Star Indian players from Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni from their all-time India-Afghanistan XI.
Gulbadin Naib made his international debut for Afghanistan in August 2011. He has played 89 ODIs and 75 T20I. All -rounder has scored 1,332 runs in Odis and 945 runs in T20I. He has also taken 74 wickets in Odis and 33 in T20I. Naib is nominated for the Asia Cup in the initial squad in Afghanistan.

Naib consisted of Afghanistan’s chief all-rounder Mohammad Nabi, taking his top run-scorer and second biggest wickets in the mid-order. He also selected Hardik Pandya of India for Xi.
“I would like to go with the left -right inauguration combination – Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Yashasvi Jiswal to open the innings. Virat Kohli, Tilak Verma, Mohammad Nabi, and Hardik Pandya are the next to capture my XI,” Naib said during a special conversation with the cricketing.

Gulbadin Naib considered Azmatullah Omrajai and Ravindra Jadeja for the final all -rounder spot. He nominated Rashid Khan as the captain of his all-time India-Afghanistan Xi.
The 34-year-old chose Mujib ur Rehman as the primary spinner of the team, with expert Death-Over bowlers Jaspreet Bumrah and Naveen-ul-Haq.
Jasprit Bumrah has taken 219 wickets in 48 Tests below 20. He has claimed 238 wickets in limited overs cricket and has been named the player of the tournament in India’s 2024 T20 World Cup victory.
Mujib ur Rehman is third in 125 matches with 165 matches of Afghanistan, while Naveen-ul-Haq is at seventh position with 89 wickets in 63 matches.
“Rashid Khan will captain me. A player between Azmatullah Omrajai and Ravindra Jadeja as an all-rounder. Jasprit Bumrah, Mujib ur Rehman, and Naveen-ul-Haq are other players of my all-time XI,” Naib said.

Naib was last seen in action while playing for Band-e-Amir Dragons during the 2025 Shpageeza Cricket League season. The team managed to win three of their eight matches.
