According to a report by RevSportz, a senior official of the Gujarat Cricket Association has shared key details about the pitch for the upcoming IPL 2026 final. The comments have attracted considerable attention, with both teams keen to understand how the surface could impact the biggest match of the season.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) will face each other in the IPL 2026 final on Sunday, May 31, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The title clash will be played on mixed clay pitch number 6, with conditions expected to play a crucial role in both the teams’ battle for the championship.
Gujarat Cricket Association official reveals what to expect from IPL 2026 final
The GCA official said that there is expected to be a fair competition between bat and ball on the pitch. According to the official, the surface will provide good bounce and carry for the batsmen while the fast bowlers will also get some assistance from the new ball.

“It will be a good pitch,” a Gujarat Cricket Association official told RevSportz. “The pitch will have good bounce and carry. This will help in scoring runs. Also, there will be something for the bowlers, especially in the front row. You can call it a sporting pitch.”
Pitch number 6 was also used for the 2026 T20 World Cup final earlier this year, when India scored 255 before bowling out New Zealand for 159. However, during the league stage of IPL 2026, Gujarat Titans bowled out Royal Challengers Bangalore for 155 runs on the same surface.
Final is all about mental strength – Shubman Gill ahead of IPL 2026 title match

Shubman Gill believes that the final of IPL 2026 will be decided by which team handles the pressure better. Speaking ahead of the title clash, the Gujarat Titans captain said his team is focused on its plans despite the recent travel disruptions and tough schedule.

“Dharamshala is a tough place to reach and travel to, but yes, physically they may have the advantage. But I think the final is about the mental side of the game, so the team that is mentally ready for the challenge will win,” Gill said.
Gujarat Titans faced travel delays after Qualifier 2 as a storm affected flight operations. The team booked their place in the final with a win over Rajasthan Royals and got a big boost from all-rounder Jason Holder, who has taken 17 wickets in 10 matches this season.
Many experts have described Royal Challengers Bangalore as a strong contender to win the IPL 2026 title. Their deep batting lineup and ability to perform under pressure has made them one of the strongest teams in the tournament.
Royal Challengers Bangalore crossed the 200-run mark nine times this season. While Virat Kohli has led the scoring charts for the team, players like Rajat Patidar, Devdutt Padikkal, Tim David, Krunal Pandya and Venkatesh Iyer have also made important contributions throughout the campaign.
The IPL 2026 final was originally scheduled to be held at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. However, the BCCI shifted the match to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad later during the season following an administrative dispute with the local government over ticket allocation.
