The Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) has supported the promotion and regulation of the National Sports Government Act, 2025, and online gaming bills, 2025. Secretary Devjit Saikia also confirmed that the Indian Cricket Board would finish its current sponsorship agreement with Dream 11.

The online gaming bill, the promotion and regulation of 2025, which was passed in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, aims to ban all real-mani gaming platforms and their promoters. This can affect BCCI, as the Dream11 sponsor Team India and My11CIRCLE hold IPL fantasy rights for the next three years.

“Once the Act comes into force, we will look into it, examine it, and if it is permissible, we will take sponsorship (from online betting and gaming companies), if it is not permissible, we will not do anything,” Saikia told India’s Times.

“Take the example of cigarettes and alcohol. Has the BCCI took any sponsorship from cigarettes and liquor companies, was once banned from taking sponsorship from such companies? Therefore, whatever is allowed in the laws to be implemented in our country, we will only follow every policy of the country.” It has been said by the Central Government.

India bans bilateral cricket with Pakistan

The Government of India has taken its stand on playing cricket against Pakistan. India will continue its ban on bilateral cricket with Pakistan, allowing participation in the multi-nation tournament under the new National Sports Government Act, 2025.

This policy allows the board to compete in the United Arab Emirates in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, where India will face Pakistan on 14 September. Pakistan cannot visit India unless it is part of a multi-nation competition.

Explanation comes after the tension between the two countries increases. There was a deadly terrorist attack in Kashmir, followed by a military conflict between the nations in May.

Despite criticism, the government has confirmed that bilateral relations are suspended, while participation in international events will continue as per the policy.

We will follow everything in true letters and soul – Devjit Saikia

Devjit Saikia said that the board will follow the policies of the central government on all sports matters, including sponsorship and participation in international programs.

He said that the government takes into account the interests of players, teams and future tournaments held in India. Saikia clarified that the BCCI would not be distracted by these instructions and would fully implement them in true letters and emotion.

“The central government has taken interest in players, teams and also, the events that are to be hosted by our country in the future. Therefore, all these things are taken very well by the Government of India and we fully support the approach expressed by the Central Government and we will follow 100% by the policy stated by the central government,” said Psychia.

He said, “The BCCI government will not go an inch against the policy of the government. We will fully follow all the policies of the central government, whether it is participating in an international sports program or about sponsorship. We will follow everything in the right letter and spirit,” he said.
