India national cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Shreyas Iyer were angry ahead of the fourth T20 match against the England national cricket team in Bristol on July 9.
England has taken an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series by winning the fourth T20 match by nine wickets. However, after the match ended, several animated pleas from the Indian camp went viral. Meanwhile, Gautam is under severe pressure as the BCCI is going to review his tenure after the England series.
Fans unhappy with Gautam Gambhir publicly slamming Vaibhav Suryavanshi
The long conversation between Gautam Gambhir and young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi caught everyone’s attention. Gambhir looked angry with Vaibhav as he had an animated conversation with the teenage batsman for about 10 to 15 minutes in Bristol.
Pictures and videos are all over social media, with fans trying to understand what Gambhir was discussing with the teenage batsman, and that too in front of fans and players near the boundary line. Gambhir seems unhappy with Vaibhav’s shot selection.
The head coach was not happy with the way Vaibhav lost his wicket. Kishore has been dismissed in a similar manner in the ongoing T20I series in England.
When the Indian head coach was explaining something, Vaibhav listened to the entire discussion carefully. But many were not impressed by Gambhir’s expression, with many criticizing the coach for showing his disagreement in front of everyone after the fourth match.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s difficult tour of England
Vaibhav Suryavanshi entered international cricket with huge expectations after his incredible IPL 2026 season. The 15-year-old also created history by becoming the youngest player to represent India in international cricket, breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s long-standing record.
But his first international series has been a nightmare for him. Even though he has shown his fearless batting style and natural attacking ability, he has not been able to play big innings for India. Amidst this, ‘How was Harshit Rana selected?’: Former cricketer questions India’s selection policy.
Vaibhav made his T20I debut in Manchester and scored 14 runs in 10 balls before being dismissed by Josh Tongue. The young opener once again looked dangerous in the third T20I at Trent Bridge. He hit two quick sixes and scored 13 runs in just five balls.
However, Jofra Archer dismissed him on a sharp short-pitched ball, forcing him to make an error. Vaibhav made a good start in the fourth T20 match in Bristol and scored 15 runs in 10 balls. He hit a four and a six, but Jofra Archer once again overpowered him with the short ball.
Shreyas Iyer and Sitanshu Kotak’s heated discussions go viral
In another viral example, India’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak and captain Shreyas Iyer were seen having some heated discussion in the dugout after the fourth T20I in Bristol. Earlier, Iyer also had some serious talks with head coach Gambhir in Bristol.
